EXECUTIVE BIOS

Andrew Herrera / Chief Executive Officer & Founder

Andrew oversees all strategic and business development functions for all Remezcla's online and print media properties. Prior to founding Remezcla.com, he was an investment banker for 8 years, where he advised technology and industrial companies on mergers & acquisitions, IPOs, and private placements. Andrew was most recently with Eureka Capital, a boutique investment banking and private equity firm. Prior to Eureka, he worked for Ernst & Young Corporate Finance (now Macquarie Capital). At Ernst & Young, Andrew was part of the M&A practice and The Center for Strategic Transactions (CST), a strategy consulting group that advised CEOs and CFOs of Fortune 100 and high-growth technology companies on transactional growth strategies. Andrew started his career at Goldman Sachs & Co. During his career, Andrew was also the Director of Business Development for the Latin Funk Music Festival, a month long music festival in New York and Miami focused on showcasing emerging local and international artists. He earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Dayton (OH). He currently serves on the Board of Directors of TeatroStageFest. Andrew was born and raised in Queens, NY and is of Ecuadorian descent .

Claire Frisbie / Co-Editor-in-Chief & Founder

Claire co-manages and oversees all programming and editorial content for Remezcla.com's media properties. Prior to founding Remezcla.com, Claire was an Internet Content Producer for Spanish portal Terra.com, where she was responsible for all rock and pop music coverage, and developed Terra's US Hispanic English-language site. Prior to Terra, Claire worked as the Associate Producer of Latina.com. Claire began her career as an A&R and Production Coordinator at Putumayo World Music. Claire earned a B.A. with honors (cum laude) in Comparative Literature & Society from Columbia University. The daughter of a US diplomat, she was born in San José, Costa Rica, and grew up between Mexico, Germany, Washington, DC, and Chile.

Nuria Net / Co-Editor-in-Chief & Founder

Nuria co-manages and oversees all programming and editorial content for all of Remezcla.com media properties. Prior to founding Remezcla.com, Nuria was the Associate Producer at MTV Radio, where she launched the MTV Tr3s Radio Network daily news service and established all production and programming standards. Prior to MTV, Nuria worked at Latina Magazine where she was instrumental in expanding Latina's music coverage with breakthrough artists such as Calle 13. Nuria has also contributed to several publications such as Vibe, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times, and The NY Daily News. Nuria earned a B.A. with a double major in Comparative Literature & Society and Anthropology from Columbia University. Nuria currently serves on the Benefit Committee of the Latino Commission on Aids. She was born in Barcelona, Spain and grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Remezcla's online properties are its primary businesses focusing on local Latin cultural content for 5 US cities: Chicago (chiremezcla.com), Los Angeles (laremezcla.com), Miami (miaremezcla.com), New York (nyremezcla.com), and San Francisco (sfremezcla.com). Remezcla also publishes weekly e-newsletters in its 5 online cities. The e-newsletter features Remezcla Editors' top weekly picks in Art, Music, and Film, and frequently include exclusive ticket or product giveaways.

Remezcla has also partnered with MySpace Latino to create En Tu Ciudad (myspace.com/entuciudad), a content channel featuring local content within MySpace.com fully powered by Remezcla.com. In April 2008, Remezcla.com announced its strategic partnership with Microsoft, which includes exclusive content licensing and promotional activities.

Publishing

Remezcla's publishing business is primarily comprised of its City Pocket Guides series. Remezcla pocket guides are a condensed yet handy version of Remezcla.com online content. Remezcla pocket guides provide readers with event listings, handy city insider tips… where to eat near events, transportation shortcuts and more. Remezcla publishes seasonal guides in its online cities, such as the popular Latin Summer Events Guide. Other signature guides are in development.

Remezcla also publishes custom pocket guides on behalf of third parties such as festivals, city agencies, tourism boards, and many others. In 2008, Remezcla.com partnered with the City of New York to make its Latin Summer Events Guide the Official Latin guide to New York City.

Events

Remezcla also activates medium-sized niche events that complement its editorial and marketing objectives.
